The day went from sad to worse when Ella woke us up screaming at midnight. We rushed in to see what was wrong and she proceeded to throw up all over Brad and her crib and the carpet. The night went on in similar fashion until about 5:30. It was a rough night...I'll spare you the details but lets just say we had about 5 loads of laundry to do, no sheets or blankets left in either of our rooms, and I woke up soaked in her pee. Poor Ella ended up sleeping in just a diaper b/c of the constant mess and her diaper must have come off while she was cuddled up next to me. It was incredibly rough to see her so sick and feel so helpless to stop it...it was every bit as horrible as I had imagined. Thankfully Brad and I have not gotten sick so far and Lord willing we will have a healthy house for a while.
The irony of it all was that we were out for dinner Saturday night with the Lucas' and we were discussing how awful it would be to have our children throw up and that maybe our kids wouldn't get sick this season. In addition, later that night Brad and I said that although the open house was a bust at least the house was in perfectly clean condition...not such the case last night/this morning:) Just goes to show how little control one has in life:)

What a gorgeous family!

He brought along his own guitar to jam with Uncle Brad;)

You just can't deny how much they look alike in the picture (at least from behind)

Doing her motorboat noises while carring around her toys...something I hear and see daily:)
Play hard, sleep hard
Ella loves to look out the side window as I mentioned before and lately when the neighbor kids are outside she bangs on the window and "talks" to them while they run around & dance & yell to her - I just thought this picture was so cute of them and their little friendship...they don't speak English and I love that they have their own little way of communicating.
Her birthday was a busy one and she couldn't even make it through lunch to take a nap:)
Ella - Grandpa's girl
She was just as thrilled with the wrapping as she was with her presents
Ella got a grocery cart & food & doll from my parents which she loved!
Ella and Reed enjoying the box

The party was a cupcake theme and I thought she sported her cupcakes quite well:)
It was hilarious b/c she was super mild and subdued while we sang Happy Birthday to her and watched her eat her cupcake. She just looked around and slowly ate it without making much of a mess with her head resting on her hand like it was no big deal. Apparently she isn't as much of a party girl as I thought:)
Our family cheering her on

The kids in their jammies - Reed, Ella, Kennedy, Kolter, Carley, & Kooper - could they be any cuter?
